“Kullervo goes to war” – card set, 10 pcs

Card size A6. This set includes 10 cards.

About design: Created by Palestinian artist Assem Attoun during his HIAP residency in Helsinki, the design reinterprets Akseli Gallen-Kallela’s Kalevala piece through a Palestinian lense. It reframes Kullervo’s story of cruelty and systemic oppression into a new story of hope and resistance by combining symbols like the Palestinian Keffiyeh and red poppies, while reinterpreting Kullervo’s horse as Al-Buraq, a mythical creature from islamic tradition.
